Privacy policy

This website collects the minimum data needed to make sure each person votes only once per category.

Data controller

What data we process

  • E-mail address. Used only to send you the sign-in link. We do not store it: we keep an encrypted fingerprint (an irreversible code) to recognise you if you sign in again and to prevent duplicate votes.
  • Votes. Which photograph you chose in each category, linked to an internal identifier with no personal data.
  • IP address. We keep an encrypted fingerprint to limit abuse (for example, automated voting). We do not store the original IP address.

Purpose and legal basis

To run the contest vote and prevent fraud. Legal basis: [voter’s consent / public interest in disseminating ICMAB’s activity].

Retention

When voting ends, the organisers anonymise the data: e-mail and IP fingerprints and sign-in links are deleted, and only the vote counts are kept. [Maximum period: e.g. 30 days after closing.]

Cookies

We only use technical cookies that are needed for the service to work and do not require consent:

  • concurs_sid: browsing session. Expires when you close the browser.
  • concurs_voter: signed identifier that remembers your votes on this device. Expires 60 days after voting closes.
  • lang: your chosen language. Expires after one year.

We do not use analytics or advertising cookies, and fonts are hosted on this server.

Recipients

We do not share the data with third parties. [Hosting and e-mail delivery providers, as data processors.]

Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to communication@icmab.es. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
