1.- ANNOUNCEMENT

ICMAB, Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona, announces the "FOTICMAB" contest, which will be held in accordance with the established in these terms and conditions .

2.- PURPOSE

This is a non-profit contest, and its purpose is that ICMAB members join the celebration of the center anniversary, held every year in the spring/summer.

3.- MECHANICS AND REQUIREMENTS OF THE COMPETITION

Everybody at ICMAB can participate.

• Each participant can present a maximum of 12 photographs by author(maximum 4 photos per category) originals and unpublished, that have not been admitted to the competition in previous editions.
• The author You must own the image rights to each photo submitted.
• The photographs and video will be delivered through this website. All ICMAB staff are already registered in it, the user and password being the same as in the ICMAB INTRANET.
• The Photos must be submitted to the competition through the form participation of this same website.
• The photographs must be uploaded in jpg format and a maximum dimension of 2000 pixels wide or tall. They must not exceed the maximum weight of 2 MB in size.

Apart from presenting the photos, the participant must indicate on the registration form the following information:

• photo title
• Short description that does not reveal who the author of the photo is (maximum: 43 words)

The organization will not accept material that does not meet one or more of the above requirements for participation, as well as those that include elements that are not governed under basic education standards, public spirit, good taste and decorum.

4.- CATEGORIES

1. ARTISTIC: free topic, without photomontages
2. SCIENTIFIC: scientific results, experiments, science in pictures
3. FAUNA AND FLORA: FLORA is the set of plant species that we find in a specific place at a specific time. FAUNA is the set of animals found in a specific place at a specific time

5.- DURATION

The contest will be valid from 10 April 2024 until the 9 May 2024, both included.

6.- SELECTION OF THE WINNERS

Once the participation is closed, from the 10 May 2024 and until the 15 May 2024 the voting of the best photographs by the ICMAB staff will take place. To this effect, each one will enter this website with the same data used to enter the ICMAB INTRANET and especially assess the artistic quality and originality of the photos.

The results of the contest will be announced on Friday, 17 May 2024 (ICMAB Party 2024).

7.- AWARDS

The winning photo of each category, elected by popular vote, will be awarded with a surprise gift.

Communication with the winners will be made via email @ icmab.es

8.- EXPOSITION

The photos posted on this website will appear instantly.

9.- IMAGE RIGHTS

The ICMAB reserves the right (nonexclusive) to reproduce in digital format and freely exhibit/reproduce any of the images that have or have not obtained any of the prizes.

They will not be transferred to third parties, in any case, unless authorized by the author.

10.- ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Participation in the competition implies acceptance of each and every one of the terms and conditions . Any photo or video that does not comply with these rules will be automatically discarded by the organizing committee.
